Very minor annoyance, but easy to fix: You should be able to dock at the station of your research agent by getting the "dock" option from the research menu in your journal. Currently you can set the course from that menu, but you cannot dock. |

ASadOldGit wrote:Could this be a relatively simple option to reduce the effectiveness of bots?
Based on comments I've seen, bots tend to warp off when someone enters local (don't know what criteria they use; neutral? anyone? non-blue?).
So what if CCP creates a "fake" entry in local? Something that pops into local of every system every 10-15 minutes? Something a human can readily identify as fake, but a bot couldn't?
An unpredictable name would be needed for a start, but that wouldn't stop the real humans from scurrying off to their little holes.
For the bots that read standing, the fake could have real negative or neutral standing, but a non-standard (or standard, but flashy) colour. Perhaps a special range of portraits that cannot be created in the character editor, but is difficult for a bot to read.
For bots that are adapted to read colour, depending on the colour palette used, there could be dozens of colours that look red or blue, but their specific RGB values would confuse the bots, especially if they were changed randomly.
I don't know if this would work in highsec - do they just ignore local, and only warp off if someone lands on grid, or shoots them? Also wouldn't work in WHs - how many bots in W-space?
It's never going to be perfect - it just needs to increase the workload of those adapting the bots, which increases the cost (time/money) of using them. If they all have to suddenly migrate from simple standings recognition to full image recognition, tough **** - tell 'em to HTFU.
Not trolling here, but how about they legalize botting for everyone? Mining is tedious and boring at the moment, so people either gunmine drones or use bots to supply the minerals that everybody needs. Imagine all mining barges being automatic ships, you give them a time schedule (much like the extractors in PI) and they just mine away in that time and try (badly) to evade gankers....

Nobody uses defender missiles nowadays because this would mean lesser firepower, as you dedicate one or more launchers, that could dish out pain otherwise, to your defenders. Possible solution would be to introduce dedicated "defender launchers" that can only launch defender missiles, but do not count as launchers or turrets, so they could be used in the utility slots.

OK..maybe I am beating a dead horse here, but:
Invention
I hate chance based systems. Words cannot express how much I hate them.
Having a losing streak of 10 jobs in a row just plain sucks.
How about the ability to invest additional datacores just to increase the success chance of a job up to- say... 4 times the base value... to get a guaranteed success? -.- |

Another tweak to invention:
I was always amazed how it was possible that i kept pumping out 425 mm AC II for months and suddenly- due to the chance based mechanics- I seemed to have totally forgotten about how to do it and had one failure after the other. I think a specialization bonus for invention would be nice, like: for every succesful completed job, the success chance for the next job for the same item is increased by 0,1 %, capped at maybe 10%. -.- |

Is that 1 billion or 100 million? I can't tell without serious eyestrain!
1,000,000,000.00
Ahhhhh, that's MUCH better!
also, add thousands seperators on the sell orders field- the seperators are only added after you have submitted your orders.
Well, actually I have made quite a bit of money of fellow traders who got their orders wrong by the factor 10...but still it is annoying.

Maybe someone has mentioned it already. Clones. I can think of no reason at all why I would NOT wish to upgrade my clone to my current skillpoints after I have been podded. But I am always afraid I may forget it some day- wich made me more and more disinclined to fly spaceships while drunk. Wouldn't it be much easier if, after your clone has been activated, it would automatically be upgraded to current level with the isk automatically deducted from your wallet? More drunk flying would mean more gratuitous pewpew, resulting in more ships destroyed, more spaceships bought, and an overall stronger economy. -.- |

If you have a destination selected, it would be really nice, if it would show up in the jump clone menu how many jumps your destination is away from each of the jumpclones. -.- |

It has been requested several times already, just going to repeat it because this stuff is important: Make a large, central and obvious display that shows negative status effects on your ship - like scrambled, webbed, dampened, jammed, target painted. ...ideally with some kind of audio signal. -.- |

and now: http://community.eveonline.com/en/inferno/features/ :
Quote: Status Effects Notification Panel
Status effects - commonly known as buffs and debuffs - currently active on your ship will now display in a more visible and intuitive Notification Panel on your screen, similar to other mainstream MMOs.
I love you guys!!!!!!

So, I just had this idea, not sure if it is good or terrible (most likely terrible): Wardecs. Concord should make podding illegal in one-sided wardecs, but it should be allowed if the war is set to mutual.
Reason: 1. Right now, there are no BPs for implants, so the economy doesn't profit from destroyed implants/clones like it profits from destroyed ships. 2. Mostly experienced corps will try to wardec newbie indy corps for easy kills, I do not expect this to change. What the non-podding rule would do is not encourage newbie players to stay docked for a week and wait it out by not playing the game, but eventually risk to fight for their corp without having to worry about their precious learning- implants. Less barriers for pvp = more gameplay. More gameplay = good for the game. 3. Older and richer players will be less disinclined to use expensive implants in highsec pvp, so pod-hunting could become a funny and rewarding activity for outlaws. 4. Setting a war to mutual would become meaningful again, because it would escalate the war to the next level (podding becomes legal)
Morgan Freeman ordered me to self-destruct....now what's your excuse? |
